Now, he’s running for Murray City Council District 2 to once again bring practical leadership, transparency, and a deep commitment to service to the heart of our city government.
With decades of experience championing the needs of working people, Dale has built a reputation as someone who listens first and fights hard for what’s right. Now, Dale is focused on the future of Murray. He’s committed to strengthening our local economy, protecting public safety, improving infrastructure, and ensuring that growth is thoughtful and balanced. He believes city government should work for everyone—not just the well-connected—and that decisions should be rooted in community input and common sense.
Dale isn’t a career politician; he’s a neighbor, a husband, a father, and a tireless advocate with the decades of experience needed to get things done.
Dale began his career as a welder mechanic and quickly became active in local labor unions, advocating for worker safety and fair wages.
Instrumental in the Utah AFL-CIO Leadership Team
Dale took on various leadership roles within the Utah AFL-CIO, building coalitions with lawmakers and community organizations to advocate for workers’ rights across industries.
Dale was elected to represent District 2 on the Murray City Council, bringing a working-class perspective and decades of advocacy experience to city government.
After nearly four years of service, Dale Cox concluded his Council term in early 2022. Local coverage noted that “two Murray leaders ride off to one sunset,” signifying the end of a collaborative era alongside Mayor Camp.
With a record of results and a reputation for steady leadership, Dale is once again stepping up to serve—committed to transparency, smart growth, and a Murray that works for everyone.
