Together with his wife, Jann, Dale Cox raised their two sons in Murray, where both attended Murray public schools. Dale’s deep roots in the city give him a strong appreciation for what makes Murray a great place to live and raise a family.
Having previously served on the Murray Council, Dale is running again in the primary election out of a continued sense of responsibility and dedication to his community. With growth and change continuing across the region, Dale believes Murray needs steady, experienced leadership to help guide responsible development, protect neighborhoods, and maintain the city’s high quality of life.
Professionally, Dale brings over 40 years of leadership experience from his work with the Utah AFL-CIO, where he ultimately served as president. Starting his career as a welder mechanic, Dale understands the value of hard work, collaboration, and building strong relationships. His calm, steady demeanor—earning him the nickname 'Turtle'—and his proven ability to work across party lines have earned him respect from both state and local leaders.
Dale’s priorities include managing growth thoughtfully, supporting small businesses, investing in public safety, protecting city resources, and ensuring sound fiscal management. He is committed to serving with transparency, integrity, and a strong work ethic, always focused on the best interests of Murray residents. Outside of public service, Dale enjoys spending time with his wife, their two dogs, decorating for the holidays, and visiting Disney parks.
